About Jewelry Appraisals
- Each piece of jewelry will be weighed, measured, digitally photographed and described in detail.
- Diamonds and Gemstones of all sizes will be identified by color, cut, clarity, and carat weight.
- Metal content will be determined.
- Most appraisals are calculated at replacement value. However, the value of jewelry is related to circumstances surrounding the sale.
- Value is always specific to a certain date and a stated purpose and will vary according to the situation.
- Along with replacement value, we also offer estate liquidation and fair market values.
When should jewelry be appraised?
- We advise that appraisals should be updated every 3 to 5 years to stay accurate with the everchanging price of diamonds and precious metals, primarily gold.
- Insurance companies will also set specific guidelines on when they may require updated appraisals.
